Gambier Pearls
I spent over two months in the Gambier archipelago documenting pearl farming, one of French Polynesia’s most vital industries. Based on the remote island of Tarauru Roa, home to fewer than 15 residents, I immersed myself in daily farm life, learning the craft to capture it authentically.
The project was planned and executed as a complete creative pipeline, covering writing, photography, and video production. It resulted in editorial images, over 100 short-form vertical videos, a short commercial, and a 30-minute documentary.
Several images were later featured in a regional bus campaign, the short commercial was included in a festival display in Canada and some content was licensed for an airline commercial.
